The temptation is there, I admit.... but the risk of getting found out exists as well.

Anyway, most of the threats that I got to my computer were in the past, I guess... mainly because I used Limewire quite often in the past.

I stopped about a couple of years ago after they started coming down hard on file-sharing. Since then I haven't downloaded any MP3s without paying for it (honest!).

Frankly, I was spooked by their recent clampdown on anime downloaders, even though I have never downloaded anime before.

Anyway, it's time for the industry and regulators to stop and think about why people are downloading in the first place... simply put, the consumers don't have an avenue for getting legal copies of the goods they want at a reasonable price.

I, for one, ask for an avenue to download DRM-free MP3s at a reasonable price (say, US$1 each). Just give me that option, and I'll be more than happy.

Of course there are lots of freeloaders out there who never want to pay for anything but I believe there are a sizable number who have no choice, like me. Why the hell would I want to pay through my nose for Odex VCDs?

Gimme anime DVDs at hong kong prices!! and more variety for crying out loud!!
